Three-day
hikes
Three days of hiking
3 days, 3 countries, 3 hikes
Every year, hiking enthusiasts from all over the world gather to participate in the "3 Days – 3 Countries – 3 Hikes" event. When it all began, there were still borders in Eastern Europe. The idea for such a hike in our region, where three countries meet, came from Bert Mann of Munich. The first hike took place in 2001.
The route options have remained essentially the same over the years:
• Bogatynia – 12 km and 22 km
• Nove Mesto – 11 km, 15 km and 27 km;
• Zittau – 8 km, 10 km, 12 km, 22 km, 32 km and 42 km.
However, every year we strive to offer hikers a variety of different sights along the trails. In Poland, the routes run through the Kwisa (Queis) region, passing Luban, the only Polish town of the former Lusatian Six-City League; in the Czech Republic, they lead around the king of the Jizera Mountains, the Smrk (Table Spruce), and its impressive surroundings; and in Zittau, the routes explore the German and Czech parts of the romantic Zittau Mountains Nature Park. We warmly invite all interested hikers from Germany and abroad to join us for this three-day hike in the tri-border region.
